Sourcing Specialist

Objective

A Sourcing Specialist is responsible for finding goods and services at the best value regarding quality and price. The type of goods procured varies widely.  Additional duties of this position include assisting the analysis and preparation of contracts and working closely with management team as well as outside vendors to meet project requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Identify suppliers of goods and services.
  • Negotiate terms with suppliers such as price, quality of goods, deadlines, expectations, etc.
  • Liaise with suppliers and project managers regarding updates and details of goods.
  • Monitor inventory to ensure the flow of goods remains positive.
  • Attend meetings with the finance department to ensure any contractual obligations are favorable to the company.
  • Work closely with the project teams to understand details of procurement needs and requirements. 
  • Provide industry and supplier research, market intelligence and financial analyses to COMO.
  • Master project management skills and deepen category-specific knowledge to bring added value to sourcing projects and advance career development.
  • This role will work collaboratively with cross-functional team members to deliver significant results.

Best candidate will have the following profile:

  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting or a related field.
  • 3+ year experience working as a procurement/sourcing specialist, experience in relationship management of suppliers, vendors, or clients.
  • Management consulting experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication is at the core of everything we do, and you must be a strong communicator able to speak to a wide range of stakeholders and team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve difficult problems and work through ambiguousness.
  • Impeccable negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and rapport building.
  • Prior work in pharma, medical devices, life sciences product preferred.
  • Flexibility to work long hours to ensure goods are successfully procured within the timeframe is required as well as the ability to travel to meet with suppliers as necessary.

Schedule:
